KATIE MASON MSW, LcSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Katie Mason, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in helping adolescents and adults navigate eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, and life's most difficult transitions. She believes healing happens through genuine connection and strives to create a space where clients feel accepted, supported, and empowered to move toward lasting change.
Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Louis University and her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in Mental Health. Her career has been shaped by a deep commitment to helping individuals through some of life's most challenging experiences. Before joining Creating Your Journey, Katie spent several years advocating for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse through the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office, where she provided crisis intervention, safety planning, courtroom advocacy, and emotional support. These experiences strengthened her passion for trauma-informed care and reinforced her belief in the incredible resilience people possess.
Katie also developed a passion for eating disorder treatment through her work with the Missouri Eating Disorder Association, where she contributed to statewide education, research, and advocacy initiatives to improve awareness and access to specialized care. She understands that eating disorders are rarely just about food—they are often deeply connected to trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, relationships, and the ways we learn to cope with overwhelming emotions. She works collaboratively with clients to address both the symptoms they experience today and the underlying experiences that continue to impact their lives.
Katie's therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. She believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and works alongside each client to develop treatment that reflects their unique goals, strengths, and experiences. Drawing from evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, she helps clients better understand themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, develop healthier coping strategies, and build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
She enjoys working with adolescents, college students, and adults experiencing eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, depression, body image concerns, perfectionism, and major life transitions. Whether someone is seeking support after a traumatic experience, working toward recovery from an eating disorder, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, Katie provides a supportive environment where healing can occur one step at a time.
